Meeting Marketing Campaign Deadlines (repost)

Written By Kautsar R.Aritona on 9/29/2011 | 12:15 PM

If someone were to ask you, would you know the difference between urgent and important?  According to another author, when you know that something is urgent, you rush to accomplish it. Bur when something is important, you make it a point to prioritize it. Usually, what is urgent gets more attention than those that are important. In fact, we prioritize in terms of what is urgent at the moment. Most of the time, we focus on both at the same time. There are still many instances when we tend to mix up the two.

In creating your brochure printing and postcard marketing campaigns, these two are often interchanged. In fact, those that are important are often given the time and mental focus because it just requires that much from your designing team. On the other hand, those that are urgent often get in the way of accomplishing your accomplishments for the long term. Because it is urgent, we tend to put more time and effort in making sure that that urgent matter should be addressed right away.  So what makes it hard for ad campaigns such as your business brochures and full color brochures to meet marketing campaign deadlines?

Let me count the reasons –  Day-to-day problems versus the important goals It is a fact that we have long-term goals that we work on and prioritize because this is something that we look forward to in the future. Nevertheless, we also have day-to-day problems that needed fixing right away. This is what keeps us from focusing on our long term goals. Because we have this penchant for fixing, we often give priority to what needs repairing right now. If you let something urgent eat all your time, then you will have a hard time making progress on anything that is important especially your long-term goals.

Give priority to something that does not cut it. A person should know the significance of having a list of important items that could make his or her life better. Moreover, to this end, compromise is therefore important if you want to accomplish what is important. The list is crucial because it helps you record what is actually in it, and to not give too much attention to what is not.  When there is, an urgent matter that you need to take care of, that stuff that did not make the list should be dropped.

You can always go back to it after you have accomplished the urgent item.  Sort out what is urgent as soon as they arrive. Dwelling on your problems and conflicts take so much of your time. It also distracts you from taking care of the urgent matters first. The effect of this then is that it takes you far longer to go back to your long-term goals and doing something for your important stuff.

Sending a Great First Impression to Customers (repost)

Written By Kautsar R.Aritona on 9/22/2011 | 12:12 PM

If you are a salesperson, you are always seeking ways to sell more. If you are a businessperson, then you are a salesperson, no matter what your business is. You are selling your product or service, and so you should always be seeking ways to sell more.

How do you make customers feel at ease with you, and your product, enough to make the sale? Obviously, there is no one right answer, or else every salesperson and businessperson in the world would be employing it. But there are some guidelines that you can follow which will put you on the right path.

If you did not already realize this, now is a good time to make you aware: perception is reality. This is especially true in the world of sales. If the customer perceives you to be a swindler, or a less-than-reliable person, then that is what you are. If the customer perceives your product to be of poor quality, then it is. You have to make the customer feel at ease, and convince him that you (and your product) are legit.

Often, the first representation of your business that a customer will see is your advertising output. The flyers, posters, and brochures that you have created will give the customer his first impression of you and your company, which, as we noted, is vital to your success. You absolutely must project positively from your ads.

Therefore, it is worth your while to invest in quality commercial printing for your advertising campaign. Do not try to save money by doing it yourself. And certainly do not try to save money by printing less-than-stellar materials. Go to a reputable company, such as PrintPlace.com, and get full color materials printed. These things will look so good, and give customers such a good image of your business, that you will quickly make up the money you spent in getting them printed.

Nothing tells a customer that you are a professional – that you know what you are doing – that you care about your product – better than attractive, colorful ads and flyers. If there is one guideline that I can give you that will help you with your customer relations, it is what I have been stressing throughout this article: never, ever skimp on your advertising budget. Make a company like PrintPlace your friend, and use their services often.

If you do, chances are customers will perceive you as being of high quality, which means that is exactly what you are!

Making Your Business Card (repost)

Written By Kautsar R.Aritona on 9/15/2011 | 12:09 PM

Business cards are an essential part of every businessperson’s arsenal. You have to have a business card ready to hand to anyone who might be a potential customer. Ideally, each business card will bring you an extra sale (or ten). However, that will only happen if your business card is effective, and it can only be effective if you make it better than the zillions of others out there.

Let us go through the process of designing your business card, step by step.

1. Determine the goal of your business card

Are you simply trying to introduce yourself and your business? Are you trying to gain an advantage in a competitive market? Are you re-establishing yourself after a tough period or an embarrassing moment? Whatever your goal is to make your new business card, always remember to stick with it. Business cards do not have to be just your name and contact information anymore. Be bold when you are thinking of your goals.

2. Decide what your business card will say

Once you know your overall strategy, now you will have to be a bit more specific. Decide exactly what content you will include on your business card. Remember that you can include more than your name and number. Write your slogan on the card. If you are offering incentives to new customers, put the incentive right there on your business card! You can even put special offers or coupons on them. It is really up to you, but has a clear plan in mind at this point.

3. Decide how your business card will look

Let me give you a hint right away: you do not want the same old, black and white business card that you have seen thousands of times. You will want to go with color business cards, which are significantly more effective. Moreover, do not worry about the extra cost. Business card printing is not that expensive anymore, even for color business cards, and the increased profits you will see make it well worth the expense.

So now that you know what you are going to say on your business card, and you know you want to have color on your business card, decide how you want to put it all together. Do you want it to look formal and professional? On the other hand, do you want it to be more lively and spontaneous? As long as your design strategy fits with your type of business, then the sky is the limit. Just do not put colorful clowns and balloons on your card if you run a funeral home or anything like that.

4. Look around, and rethink

You now have a complete design for your business card, but you are not done. The worst thing you can do is take this design straight to the business card printing company you have chosen and have it done up. You might not like the results. First, look around at some sample cards or at the cards of your competitors. You want to make sure that your cards are unique. At the same time, you want to make sure that your cards are not so “out there” that they will distract the customer.

So evaluate your design for a few days before you commit to it. You will be happy you did.

5. Get ‘em done!

If you have taken some time to think over your design, you have most likely made a few changes to it. That is good; that means you are even happier with your card now. So now, if you are comfortable, get your business cards printed! In addition, start enjoying the increased revenue!
